Emjoi Micro Pedi

I won’t lie, my poor feet get neglected an awful lot and they have suffered from this neglect with really dry skin and cracked heals. If my feet were bad, hubbys were pure horrible. Iwetried the Ped Egg when it first came out and found it rubbish so you can imagine my intrigue when I heard about the Micro Pedi. I was delighted to get sent a sample to try out and over the last few weeks, both mine and himselfs feet have improved no end. They have been left feeling silky smooth.

What is the Micro Pedi?

Unlike other tools that claim to get rid of hard ski this actually works and does a fantastic job thanks to the unique micro mineral roller that spins at 360º, at an amazing 30 times a second! This gently, effortlessly and effectively buffs away at the dead, hard, jagged skin on your soles and heels. The results are instantly visible, leaving feet with the perfect salon pedicure feel.

There are two different easy interchangeable rollers, coarse and extra-coarse, the user can choose their desired effect. The roller deals with both dry and hard skin, covering all areas of the feet. The magenta roller is coarse for dry skin and the blue roller is extra exfoliating for the rougher areas of the feet, which means you can tailor your treatment to your needs.

Features & Benefits:

  • Removes hardened, callused skin from feet in seconds
  • Includes two different rollers for custom results: coarse (magenta), extra coarse (blue)
  • Safe and effective alternative to metal scrapers
  • Ergonomically designed handle for easy grip
  • Portable and convenient
  • Easy to clean under running water

The Emjoi MICRO Pedi is available in Boots, leading pharmacies nationwide and online from www.lifes2good.ie  (where you can also buy replacement rollers for )or phone 1890 25 22 06.

8 Years

I’m going to be a bit soppy today as it marks the eight year anniversary of me and hubby officially becoming a couple. We met on the 29th of April 2004 in the pub beside where I was going to college. At the time I was still hung up on an ex and the last thing I was expecting was meeting the man I’d marry. I was there with friends when he showed up with my friends boyfriend. We literally said two words to each other before I left to go shopping. Next thing I knew I was getting texts from friends asking if he could have my number. I agreed not thinking anything would come of it.

When I did hear from him, I played it cool and said I couldn’t meet up for a couple of weeks because of college exams. But I caved and went out with him in a group situ the next week. The next step was a date night in town, where we went to see Van Helsing and then went to Judge Roy Beans (now The Porterhouse). I was so nervous we wouldn’t have a thing to talk about  but we clicked and spent the whole night chatting away and I invited him to my B’day party on the 29th May.

I was so nervous about him coming to the party. Would my friends like him? Would we still have that spark?  At first it was awkward but my best friend told him to take me outside for a chat. We bumped into an old schoolmate of mine and she asked if he was my boyfriend. To save any explaining I said Yes and that was that. Five weeks later we said those three little words. We were set in stone and became inseperable. To this day we are still inseperable and still click.

The eight years have gone by in a blink in some ways but in others it feels we have always been together.

Holiday Time

Source

Myself and hubby finally sat down last week and picked a date to go away this year. I’m off to the UK from 23rd July to the 31st July. We were going to fly back on the 30th but a €50 saving on the flight meant we chose to stay an extra day. I always take a yearly trip to my relatives in East Sussex, apart from last year because the little man was on the way. We usually go in June but the car needs a new clutch (nightmare) so we decided to go in July instead.

We are flying with Aer Lingus, and it will be little man’s first time on a plane. Something I am excited about but also dreading that he might hate it. We fly out from Dublin and land in London Gatwick. The flight is short enough at approx an hour. When we land it will be a short train trip to where  we are staying.

My relatives live in a beautiful seaside town called Seaford, its very relaxing but also has a lovely collection of shops. Seaford is located about a 30 minute drive from Brighton and Eastbourne. Both are great for shopping (but not great for my wallet). We have loads planned for our week away, including a trip to Druzillas Zoo and helping my cousin with some wedding plans. I’m really excited to be going because it’s been so long since we have been and most of my relatives havent met the little man.

Nearer the time I’ll share with you my packing tips along with what beauties I’ll be taking. I’m going to try downsize as much as possible but ever the beauty junkie there will still be loads.

Get Your Bling On!

Are you like me and a magpie for shiny pretty jewellery? Here is the answer to your prayers to the Jewellery Gods. Silverbling is a relatively new Irish company that was set up by Teresa. Teresa has 15 years experience in the retail jewellery trade and sold up to have another baby 6 years ago (a very unexpected 40th birthday present) She then got a part time  office job in Harolds Cross but the business closed after the floods.

There is great choice on the website and the prices are very reasonable.  You can email her requests for ertain shapes, colours, stones, chains. There is also a payment plan (ideal for weddings) where you can pay weekly or monthly at no extra cost. All products are bought to order so delivery takes 10 working days.

I really like the jewellery on the site, what do you think of these sample pieces?

Silverbling are also on Facebook and Twitter, so be sure to pop over and say hello

Happy Birthday To Me

Well… Not quite yet but this day next week I am turning the big 27!!!

The Plans

I’ve made loads of plans to celebrate my birthday this year. First up is a meal in The Queens Steak Room,Dalkey Saturday night with the hubby, little man, my folks and baby bro (who just happens to be  much taller than me). Then a night out with some friends while the little man spends the night in my folks. I’m actually quite nervous about this because it will be my first night away from him ever. My godmother is also taking me and the little man out for lunch on the actual day, it’ll be nice to get out as hubby is working that day and my folks are off to a wedding.

Hubby was very sweet and tried booking the three of us into The Arklow Bay Hotel for this weekend but it was booked out so we’re going in a few weeks instead. The Arklow Bay has many special memories for me as it’s where we had our wedding reception.

Birthday Present Wishlist

I always hate when someone asks me what I want for my birthday because I never really want anything, and then I end up with things I never use. I’m quite happy spending the day with my two men. The following would be a nice addition to the day.

A Watch, don’t really mind which one once it is pretty. I haven’t had a watch in forever and really need one as I’ve no concept of time when I’m out and about

A new pair glasses. I’m slightly short sighted and my glasses are broke so a new pair is definitely in need. I’m thinking I want a pair of Gok Wan for Specsavers but will try a few on and see if anything suits.

Sigma Premium Professional Kit and F50

Eyeshadow Palettes for my makeup kit.

Babyliss Big Hair Brush

Vouchers for Penneys

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

Ages ago I was sent the popular Liz Earle CLeanse and Polish to review and I have just used the last drop of it so thought it was time to review it. I’m a bit late to the Liz Earle party but if the Cleanse and Polish is anything to go by, the products are gorge.

Image From Liz Earle Website

I was sent the starter kit whcih included 100ml Cleanse and Polish and two muslin cloths in a neat little travel bag (Ideal for holidays). The cleanser is two phase based, phase one removes makeup (even stubborn mascara) and phase two is polishing off the cream with a muslin cloth removing yuk dead skin cells and leaving your skin feeling clean and looking radiant. The cleanser smells of eucalyptus (yum) and is cream based.

I’ve never really paid much attention to the use of muslin cloths for cleansing but I think I am becoming a convert. I noticed while using this my cotton wool pads lasted longer and the cloths are easily cleaned by popping them in the washing machine with the little mans clothes. Another thing I like about the product is the ingredients list: Beeswax, Cocoa Butter, Eucalyptus Oil, Chamomile Oil  and Rosemary essential oils. This is a treat for your sense of smell.

If you haven’t tried Cleanse and polish, I would highly recommend it. Now is a great time to aswell because from the 23rd-25th of this month it is being sold on the website for the original launch price of €11.75. I  ordered Sanctuary Cleansing Oil off Cloud10Beauty to try out but when it’s empty I think I will be returning to this.

xxx Have you tried this revolutionary product or is there something else from Liz Earle you have tried that you would recommend for a Liz Earle beginner like me? xxx

Extra Virgin Minerals Compact Foundation

I’ve taken quite a fancy to compact foundations lately, they are so handy for taking with you in your handbag without the fear of a bottle breaking a leaking foundation- this happened me once and ruined a gorgeous bag. I usually go with powder foundation compacts but The Body Shop were very kind and sent me their Extra Virgin Minerals Compact Foundation. (They also sent me their All In One Face Base, which I actually prefer to my MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation but more on that again)

The foundation contains pure minerals and cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil for an immaculate, matte finish.Application is easy with the soft synthetic brush and I found it doesn’t cake or cling to any dry patches on my tempermental skin. I was sent 105 Rose Ivory which is a perfect match for my pale skin. What I really like about this compact is that it contains SPF15 and is paraben free.

xxx As you can see from the pics, I’ve used this quite a bitxxx

Anyone tried this or anything else from the Virgin Minerals Range

Beauty With Heart Event

On Monday evening I headed off to The Body Shop for the launch of their Beauty With Heart products and the launch of the new Lily Cole makeup range. I was really excited to be going as I adore the company. On arrival we were greated with Champagne, sweets and cakes. (I was very good and avoided the cakes, even though they looked yummy) While waiting for the event to start, I had a great chat with some lovely fellow beauty bloggers. (Check out their links below)

Beauty With Heart challenges convention and pushes the boundaries of beauty.Their aim is to promote beauty as more than skin deep. The range features gorgeous beautifying oils and body mists in a range of yummy flavours. My personal favs were Mango and Chocomania. The products are designed to enhance your natural beauty rahter than mask it with lots of unnecessary products.

Look Good
By using products that are powered by nature and rich in high quality ingredients.
Feel Good
By knowing the products come from an ethical brand.
Do Good
By using the products you are helping the environment, fair trade and animal welfare
We were also introduced to the new cruelty free makeup collection by Lily Cole which features a pearl radiance primer,a new shimmer cube, a liquid eyeliner and lip& cheek dome available in a gorgeous pink and classy coral. Lily Cole is said to be a huge fan of the lip and cheek dome and I can see why. It adds natural colour to your lips and cheeks. A great multipurpose product.
Their beautiful body butters have gotten some new packaging and I was really amazed to here that one of their body butters sell every 2 seconds!
When we were leaving, we were treated to a goodie bag. Mine included Shea Beautifying Oil, Coconut Body Mist, Pearl Radiance primer and the lip & cheek dome (which I have used alot over the last few days)
xxx Here are the links ot the lovely girls I had chats with xxx

!!! Update!!! Here are some pics taken of me, I so didn’t realise the first two were taken (Pics taken from The Body Shop Facebook Page) The last pic is of me with the lovely Kat from Dolly Rouge.

A Few Avon Bits

After two weeks of waiting, my Avon order arrived last Thursday. I love Avon but have neglected it in recent years due to a number of reasons. I was put in touch with a local rep and decided to place an order. Dangerous decision but I was very good and didnt order too much.

Here are the lovelies:

So far, I have only used the Planet Spa Mediterranean Olive Oil Face Mask and am very impressed with it. My skin felt lovely and soft afterwards. Not bad for 99c in the sale book. Over the next few weeks, I’ll have reviews on the lovelies xxx
